JAMES WELLS

One day I decided to go out for a run and see where the road would take me. 15 years later I am now a Personal Trainer and proud owner of a great little gym.

I am in love with Running, Thai Boxing, Grappling and Strength Training. Over the years I hope that I’ve helped all those who have trained with me to reach the goals we have set together.

I truly believe that training through exercise and physical activity is the key to everything. I train hard and expect the same from my clients: but if you're willing to put in the work, then you will get the results.

BEN NEVIS

As a present to myself for my 45th birthday I ran up the mighty Ben Nevis.  Up and down again in 2 1/2 hours.  What an experience

ULTRA MARATHONS

In 2012, I completed the Hadrian’s Wall Ultra Marathon, covering 70 miles in 15.5 hours — a true test of endurance and determination.

In 2024, I set out on a self-led 40-mile ultra run through the Peak District, starting at Ladybower Reservoir. The route took in Castleton and Winnats Pass, across Mam Tor and Kinder Scout to Hayfield, before continuing through New Mills and Disley, crossing the moors to Shining Tor, and finishing in Whaley Bridge. This challenging route was completed in an impressive 7.5 hours.

In 2025, I took on a unique challenge — the Gym Ultra — running over 40 miles by completing repeated 1-mile laps from the gym on Viaduct Road, demonstrating consistency, resilience, and mental toughness.
